HERITAGE OF THE WATCHCASE FACTORY

The Village of Sag Harbor was founded in the early 1700s. By the
latter part of that century, it had evolved into a wealthy whaling
capital and international port. After the whaling industry period, Sag
Harbor became a manufacturing center anchored by the Joseph
Fahys & Co. watchcase factory. More recently, Sag Harbor has flour-
ished as a creative haven for artists and writers; in addition to being
the Hamptons’ only true waterfront village, it is widely known as one
of America’s quintessential historic villages.
